Homosassa Springs

Saturday, February 13th eight sturdy club members braved the 41 degree temperature to spend a few hours at the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park capturing all the photo opportunities available. An uncooperative " Lucifer"  the hippopotamus, chose not to show his good side, but many of the other wildlife creatures were available. They were behind a fence that was overcome with lens adjustments. Many birds, with some in their nests, were photographed. At this time of the season there were numerous manatees seeking warmth and it was noted by local rangers that frost on their bodies was evident in some cases. In another area, outside of Park boundaries, it was noted that people were in water with the Manatees (Brrrrrrrrrrr). As usual, some areas of the Park were being renovated but it did not deter the members from getting those award winning images. All told, those attending enjoyed a few great hours together doing what we do in our club..... shooting photos and having lunch.
