On Friday, February 11th, eight Chasco members braved the frigid cold of 54 degrees (remember, this is Florida) to experience the Tampa Market on Franklin Street with it’s multitude of vendors and performers. Activities started slowly as we moved further south on Franklin Street to the vicinity of the fountain and waterfall. Of course, after lunch, the situation changed as more people and vendors appeared to give us many additional opportunities to take advantage of the scenes. At these activities the vendors and citizens are very cooperative in allowing us to take our “ Shots”. We hope to see some of these award winning photos in our upcoming competitions. But our day was not over as we visited the Tampa Museum of Art to view images of many Jazz performers of the 50’s and 60’s taken by noted photographer Herb Snitzer, who lives in St. Petersburg. Of course we viewed other exhibits which topped off a very interesting and an enjoyable day. For others who may be interested, the Market is ongoing each Friday until May and also , the Museum area itself, offers many opportunities of skyline and graphic photos.
